An estranged father, Dr Yonotan Abadi (Segal), gets a call from his ex-wife Tali (Dagan) with an unexpected announcement from their hedonistic daughter Anat (Rieger). In a complete departure from her party girl lifestyle, she has become engaged to a devout musician and enrolled in an ultra-orthodox seminary. Unsettled by her mysterious embrace of religious zealotry, Yonatan and Tali are desperate to force Anat to reconsider her radical new path, one from which there will soon be no turning back. However, the closer they try to get to their daughter, the more she wants to distance herself from them.

"Nesher skillfully balances a lot of characters and storylines, each illustrating a different kind of Israeli and a different connection to Jewish life, culture, and practice, but he never lets any of them become symbolic rather than real."
Nell Minow - ROGEREBERT.COM

"A gripping, touching and unpredictable story about a troubled father-daughter relationship that weaves in the conflicts between secular and ultra-Orthodox Israelis, a struggle that is so central to Israeli life but rarely the focus of fiction."
Hannah Brown - JERUSALEM POST

"The wider themes of the film grow more evident through individual elements in which nobody is prepared to listen to the other side of the story, or try to understand a different point of view."
Allan Hunter - SCREEN INTERNATIONAL

"More popular melodrama than the usual exercise in high art, it whipsaws us with so many unexpected passions and surprising events that holding on to your seat is strongly recommended."
Kenneth Turan - LOS ANGELES TIMES
